Just think we had an earthquake here in sunny Frinton on Sea! Anyone else feel that?

Fucking hell chaps same here, about half hour ago I was awoken by what I thought was someone trying to yank open my back door, felt like half the house shook, I leapt out of bed and legged it downstairs. Been sitting here in bed can't sleep, logged on and saw this. Benfleet,Essex.

Ben in probably hundreds of earth quakes in Taiwan. I believe its one the most seismically active countries in the world averaging about 2000 a year of which about 10% can be felt. They had a really biggy in 2006 and since then everything every thing they build is supposedly earth quake proof , including the 101 building , I think its still the tallest building the world and a high speed 300kph Railway on for 350 KM. Most of these places that get Mullered because of the poor quality of the buildings. Mind you if you have something big enough not a lot will stand up to it, However the Japanese quake in 2011 a wapping 8.9 was so deadly from the resulting Tsunami , not because all the buildings collapsed. So although tremors can get the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up, if you are in the uK there is very little to worry about

4.3 magnitude is pretty big for a country not used to them. Wouldn't surprise me if there was some damage to buildings.

They happen quite a lot ted but you cannot feel them, you may be surprised to know you have had 24 earthquakes in the last 50 days

Thats how it gets bob doesn't it you get used to it. The Tsunami one woke me up in Patong, I just recognized the slow rocking in my sleep and woke up. But then I though I'm on holiday in Thailand not back in Taiwan must be a dream and went back to sleep. I was woken up a couple of hours later by some rather large drama
Had a rare one in Panang about 3 years ago, when you think how close it is to Sumatra its surprising really. My mate was staying with me for a week or so and the 18th floor condo stated rocking like fuck, ceiling fan was clanging about , he absolutely shit himself want ed to run outside , which a bad move from 18 floors
